Let’s talk about rustic window valance ideas. If you love rustic style as much as we at Pickled Barrel do, then you’re in the right place. Take a look at the ideas we found, and get ready to incorporate one or all of them into your rustic home.
Burlap would have to be a great choice for a rustic window valance, and this idea proves it. These valances are no-sew and take just minutes to put up. The burlap is cut to fit the window casing, then attached to the underside of the top casing with tacks. Jute twine is used to tie up the burlap into a valance.
Reclaimed wood or aged lumber can be made into an amazing rustic window valance–and of course it is no-sew because it isn’t fabric! For more information on aging new wood, see our tutorial. I love the valance and wood wall in this boys’ room!
The valances on this trio of windows are all made from drop cloths. That qualifies them as rustic if you ask me! No sewing is required. Just paint the drop cloths using a stenciled design.
These no-sew valances were made from burlap coffee bags. Use some iron-on heat-and-bond hem tape to form a pocket for a rod. Then find your favorite decorative curtain rod to hang them from.
This is a unique valance that combines rustic barn wood with a muslin bed skirt. The bed skirt is hung on the valance from intentionally rusted masonry nails.
