A firepit is an asset in any yard because it provides an excellent place to hang out, relax and even entertain guests. The good news is, if you don’t have one, it’s a project you can easily DIY. To help you, check out the following DIY firepits for inspiration.

Lucy at Lucy’s Lampshade had a koi pond in her yard that was going unused, so she let it dry up and converted it into a firepit. Do you have a landscape feature that could easily convert into a firepit? The stones stacked higher in the back give it a fireplace feel.

This is a personal firepit made by Karen at The Art of Doing Stuff. It fits on a tabletop and is the perfect size to have s’mores for two.

For a firepit that will really stand out as an art form, try a DIY mosaic made with colorful tiles. There’s a great tutorial at 3 Peppers.

If you like clean, modern lines and aren’t afraid of working with concrete, this is the DIY firepit for you. The mold can be either an extra large bowl of 18″ or more in diameter, or a large planter. I think it looks amazing!

This in-ground firepit was a quick DIY made from bricks leftover from another project, so it was also inexpensive. Landscape stone fills in the spaces between the bricks.

Believe it or not, this firepit is an upcycle, made from an old washing machine tub. The holes in the side make it look reminiscent of an old lantern. Captivating!

Over at All Things Heart and Home, they had the genius idea to create a firepit that is also a table and a game board. Entertain guests, then remove the cover when you want to light the fire.

I really love this freestanding firepit made from stacked stones and a cast iron insert. Beautiful!
