I like to use a sugar scrub now and then, but not all the time. It tends to be too oily, and I miss the foaming action of my favorite shower gel. But what if there was a foaming sugar scrub you could make at home, that wasn’t too oily and didn’t make you miss your shower gel? Well, don’t miss today’s post because there is a foaming sugar scrub you can make at home! It’s easy to get the ingredients, easy to make, and you’ll love the results. Better yet, you’ll love how it makes your skin feel!
To make this awesome sugar scrub, you’ll need the following ingredients:
4 cups of organic sugar
1/2 cup unscented liquid Castile soap
1/2 cup organic, unrefined Shea Butter (you can purchase this one from Amazon)
2 teaspoons organic Rose Hip Oil (also available from Amazon)
your favorite essential oils (optional)
You’ll also need 4 glass jars to store your homemade scrub when it’s finished. Check out these jars available at Michaels!
Measure your Shea Butter into a glass bowl. For safe melting, set this bowl over top of another bowl or pan of boiling water.
While the Shea Butter melts, measure the organic sugar into another glass bowl. Add the melted Shea Butter, liquid Castile, and Rose Hip oil and use a spatula to mix everything together well. If you want to add some scent, mix in a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
Divide the sugar scrub into the glass jars and securely fasten the lids. As the Shea Butter cools, the mixture will set and become the consistency of cake batter.
To use the sugar scrub, scoop a desired amount into your palm and rub into skin until the sugar dissolves.
