10 Interesting Ways to Display Your Television

10 Interesting Ways to Display Your Television| How to Display Your Television, DIY Living Room, How to Decorate Your Living Room, Living Room Decor, How to Display a Television, Living Room Hacks, DIY Home, DIY Home Decor

A flat screen television doesn’t have to be the most boring part of your home décor. Many designers like to try something unusual and unexpected, even with the television. To inspire you to do the same, here are 10 interesting ways to display your flat screen television!

1.The designer of this Palm Beach condo decided to display the television on a large oak easel. Better yet, the easel is moveable, so the television is too!

In the open loft-like living area of this 1970 Palm Beach condo, designer Vincente Wolf decided to place the TV on this moveable Magasin Sennelier French oak easel.

2. If you prefer the option to hide your television when you’re not watching it, what better way than behind a large map? I think this is genius, and definitely more interesting than looking at the TV.

In a Marin County, California, beach house designed by Erin Martin and Kim Dempster, a vintage pull-down map bought on eBay hides the TV.

3. Not everyone wants the television to be the focal point of the room it’s in. This one is displayed under a table. Watch it if you want, and easily ignore it if you don’t.

Because large electronics might visually consume his 425-square-foot studio apartment in Brooklyn, designer Zach Motl slid his TV under the desk.

4. This television hangs out behind mirrored doors when it isn’t used. You probably wouldn’t even know it was there!

In designer Nina Farmer's Boston brownstone, Antique-mirror doors fold back for TV viewing.

5. Another option to conceal a television is to hang artwork over it. Again, you wouldn’t even know it was there.

A photograph by Robin Layton conceals a flat screen in designer Mark Egerstrom's West Hollywood house. "I hate TVs above fireplaces," Egerstrom says, "but in a house this size there was no other place for it."

6. Some people like a television in the kitchen, and if you’re one of them, try displaying it in a little niche above the refrigerator.

In Mary Jo Bochner's Savannah, Georgia, kitchen, a Sony TV is tucked into a niche above the refrigerator. Open shelves made with wood salvaged from the torn-down walls hold a collection of white ironstone.

7. A swing arm wall mount allows the television to take center stage when you want it to, but tuck back against the wall when you don’t. The plus side is that you don’t need a stand for it.

Top photo stylist and head stylist at One Kings Lane, Andrew Stewart, mounted the Samsung TV in his Manhattan studio apartment on a swing-arm device, eliminating the need for bulky media center. It swivels to face the bed and pushes back flush when not in use.

8. An outdoor television is proudly displayed above the fireplace in this outdoor living space. Entertain without missing any games!

Indoor-outdoor living is made even easier with a television outside, like in this Hermosa Beach, California, house designed by Parrish Chilcoat and Joe Lucas. A fireplace and overhead heat lamps make it possible to entertain on the loggia year-round.

9. Wall niches for the television also work well in the bath. It’s perfect if you like to relax in a hot tub with a little Netflix!

In a Rumson, New Jersey, bathroom designed by Laura Kirar, a Waterworks Empire tub is framed by a seven-foot-wide arched window.

10. Finally, try surrounding the television with furniture. This gives everything a handsome, built-in look.
