Don’t throw away those used cans, jars, paper scraps or toilet paper tubes! As far as Halloween crafts go, those things are all very useful. Let me show you some cute and creative Halloween crafts made from junk. Your kids will be pleased, and you’ll feel good about recycling instead of adding to the landfill.
Creative Halloween Crafts Made From Junk
I don’t think you can make a cuter Frankenstein than one made from a recycled tin can. And it is so easy! Wash and dry the can. Use green craft paint to cover the inside and outside of the can. Let the paint dry thoroughly. Cut black felt for hair and glue it around the top of the can. Glue on some googly eyes. Use a black Sharpie to draw Frankenstein’s brows and mouth. Finally, add two screws for effect!
Would you believe that this mini vase is a used prescription bottle? We all have some of those floating around, it seems. They’re the perfect color for a cute jack-o-lantern face, just use a black Sharpie to add the eyes, nose and mouth. Tie a jute bow around the top and you’re ready to add some small sunflowers or daisies to display.
Save all those summer popsicle sticks, or put those crafts sticks in your junk drawer to use. This is an especially fun craft for the kids on a rainy October afternoon. Make a scarecrow, pumpkin or other Halloween-themed character with felt, beads, googly eyes and other craft supplies. Just use whatever you’ve got lying around!
Kids also love these Halloween characters made from toilet paper tubes. They can be painted and decorate in a myriad of ways, and then played with for weeks leading up to Halloween. And since they’re made from junk, you won’t feel a bit bad if the kids wreck them. Just let them make more next year!
