Yard decor with rustic charm is just the thing for a home in the country–or even in the city! If you’ve got a yard to decorate, whether it’s big or small, I’ve got some examples of rustic yard decor you really need to dress up your yard.
What Is Rustic Yard Decor?
Rustic yard decor is characterized by a charming level of imperfection. Something that’s a little rusty or has paint that is chipping is a wonderful example of this kind of imperfection. If you have a piece from another era that has been left with its vintage appeal, it’s definitely rustic. And anything straight from nature–such as a bench made from tree boughs–is the epitome of rustic decor.
Rustic Yard Decor You Really Need
How utterly charming is this little garden spot? A rustic crate serves as the planter, and it’s amazing on its own. But set it atop an old utility wagon and it really soars to new heights! I love that the climbing vine uses the wagon handle for support. See how easy it is to come up with rustic yard decor like this?
Planters are always welcome yard decor. But use an old wooden bucket and it turns decidedly rustic. The metal band of this bucket is painted in a bright blue for a fun splash of color, but even a plain rusty band looks great.
When the leaves fall from the trees, it’s a great time for rustic yard decor that livens things up for the winter. There’s an assortment of rustic objects hanging from the branches of this tree, but my favorite are the old oil lanterns. What do you think of this idea?
Here an old rustic bird house is used as a mailbox. This is a wonderful example of how an imperfect piece–that at first glance has seen better days–still makes the perfect rustic yard decor. If it was cleaned up, it just wouldn’t have the same effect!
