It’s picnic season! Be prepared to have the perfect picnic with the following 10 tips and tricks.
1. For a quick and easy way to cover your foods and protect them from bugs, use a shower cap. The elastic will stretch to easily fit bowls and plates of many sizes.
2. A muffin tin makes the perfect drink holder. It securely holds cups while you pour, preventing them from spilling all over your picnic.
3. Take a cue from your favorite sandwich shop and wrap your picnic sandwiches in parchment paper. You can easily write on it and label each sandwich as needed.
4. Be sure to pack your picnic into an easily transportable container, especially if you need to walk a little ways to access your perfect picnic spot.
5. To keep bugs out of your sweet drinks, use mason jars with lids and straws.
6. Mason jars are also a fantastic way to store individually-sized salads for transporting.
7. Invest in a picnic backpack, which allows you to carry most of what you need right on your back. Pretty darn genius!
8. Freeze your water bottles and let them keep the food cold while you travel to your picnic area.
9. Clip utensils right to the bag the next time you take a brown bag picnic lunch. It keeps them handy and off the ground.
10. If you’ve got a truck and the ground is wet, or your favorite spot is reserved by someone else, just turn your picnic into the perfect tailgate.
